What is the NLP in Sport Programme?
If you would like to receive full information on our NLP for Sport Programmes, please
Most people now realise that it's not enough to be just technically good as a manager, coach or trainer. To be really successful in sport you need to be good with people, a great communicator, and have a good understanding about where, when and how to apply psychology to get results.
"Competition is won or lost on the six-inch playing field between the ears"
....Bobby Jones, legendary golfer
Unfortunately most people don't have the time to spend years studying therefore this programme is an accelerated approach to gaining the essential skills required to work effectively and get the most out of themselves and others.
It's grounded in the principles of NLP, and has a specific focus on maximising personal and professional performance for working in sport in the 21st century. We also include techniques from contemporary Sport Psychology, providing a practical, balanced and experiential approach to the Mental Game.
Our aim is to provide a course that works to professionalise coaching, and add the professional development aspects that traditional coaching and technical courses don't always deliver

Hypnosis in Sport - learn about it on our Sport NLP Programme!
Hypnosis is a fascinating and frequently misunderstood subject. It is not the submissive state that many people think it is from movies, stage shows and misinformation.
It is a progressive mental training technique that allows individuals the opportunity to channel attention and sharpen focus so that they can concentrate solely on the task at hand.
It can relax your body and mind and help you to control unwanted negative thoughts and emotions.
Hypnosis allows you to get into an optimum psychological state so that you can mentally rehearse future goals such as success in sport, confidence in business, or reaching your fitness & weight loss targets.
"This course brings immediate benefits. The learning can be applied now and the elite players I coach are already benefiting. It's a powerful learning experience and great fun! - Like sport itself, it is exhilarating, very challenging, and a very worthwhile investment of time and energy - I am also finding the skills are powerful in my work with high performance business teams."
Paul O'Kelly, Gaelic Football Coach and Partner - O'KellySutton-Gazelles (Strategic Planning and Fast Growth Business Consultants.
More and more we are seeing hypnosis and guided imagery being used to great effect in areas such as Sport Performance, with world class athletes Tiger Woods, Jean-Claude Killy, Andre Agassi, Wayne Rooney, and Lennox Lewis all publicly acknowledging the importance of mental training to improve performance - and no-one can deny the success Wigan FC have had - maybe that's why the Mexican National Team employed a hypnotherapist to help with their preparation for the World Cup!
In Sport, hypnosis can help athletes of all levels with areas such as confidence, focus and improving 'closed' skills such as serving in tennis, conversion kicking in Rugby and penalty kicks in football.
Athletes and Sports people often talk about being 'in Flow' or 'In the Zone'. Being in a hypnotic trance has been likened in many ways to being in Flow. Starting to incorporate hypnosis into your regular training programme can therefore have the effect of assisting you to achieve the elusive flow state on a more regular basis, thus facilitating the right mental state and emotions to be able to perform at your optimum.
Developing and delivering mental training for all sporting bodies is where Inside Performance fills the gap of what it takes to be 'The Champions' - not simply the development of mental strength and flexibility of players, but the development of mental strengths and flexibility of those around them - making the difference between a good team and a great team!
"This was a journey I had to be prepared to take and it has helped me feel more confident and prepared with the necessary skills to make a difference"
Professional Sport Psychologist
